Immunochemistry and molecular pathology LAB
The scientific aim of our Laboratory is to study at cellular and molecular level the pathogenic mechanisms operating in the course of intracellular infections (Mycobacterium tuberculosis and HIV) and autoimmune diseases. In this context, our interest is mainly focused on the study of the macrophage response to MTB, on the mechanisms by which MTB increases HIV replication in co-infected patients, and on the role of HLA alleles in the susceptibility to some autoimmune diseases.
