The aim of the PhD program is to train scholars in the critical analysis of the form and content of the figurative and literary products of the classical antiquity, and also of the European ones in relation to their Greek and Latin foregoings.

In particular this implies acquisition of skill in identifying and analyzing rupture and continuity situations in the artistic and literary history of Europe.

The program will provide students with the skills needed to enact tested scholarly competences in Universities and in private and public bodies, so as to work effectively in the field of the preservation and exploitation of cultural inheritance. It is worth remembering that high schools will be eager to make use of such well trained teachers.
