Dr. Tatjana Sumerska Borissova, Hospital of Infectious Disease, Sofia, Bulgaria. Duration and place of the grant: June 26Th - July 3rd 1995, Dept. of Biology, Tor Vergata University of Rome. Subject of this grant was to learn the basic techniques of determination of apoptosis in human lymphocytes and monocytes occurring in course of AIDS infection and Tuberculosis. Moreover, it has been evaluated the possibility of transferring a cytofluorimeter to the Hospital of Infectious Diseases at Sofia actually lacking this kind of instrumentation.

Dr.Viktoria Donchenko Koroliouk, Institute of Pathology of the Academy of Sciences, Kiev, Ucraina. Duration and place of the grant: oct.10th - dec.10th 1995, Dept.of Biology, Tor Vergata University of Rome. Subject of this grant was to learn a vast spectrum of cytoflurimetric techniques applied in AIDS infection (evaluation of lymphocytic markers, apoptotic phenomena).

Duration and place of the grant: dec.14th - 22nd 1995, Dept. of Biology, Tor Vergata University of Rome. Subject of this grant was to study cytofluorimetric techniques applied in AIDS infection (lymphocytic markers, apoptotic phenomena and their correlation with the development of the disease).

Dr. Mitra Salehi Sirjani, Microbiologist from Theran University, Iran. Duration and place of the grant: July 1996 - December 1996, Dept. of Biology, Tor Vergata University of Rome. Subject of this grant was to study molecular diagnosis of mycobacteria in AIDS infection.

Dr. V. Vishwanath, Tuberculosis Research Center, India. Duration and place of the grant: February 1997 - July 1997, Institute of General Pathology, University of Ferrara. Subject of this grant was to study mycobacterial infection inside activated human and animal macrophages in vitro.

Dr. Mitra Salehi Sirjani, Theran University, Iran. Duration and place of the grant: March 1998 - November 1998, Institute of Experimental Medicine, CNR, Rome. Subject of this grant was to study the application of an insertion sequence Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Complex specific, (ISMYC) for epidemiologic and experimental studies.
