SUMMER
COURSES
IN ITALIAN
LANGUAGE
AND CULTURE
FOR FOREIGN
STUDENTS
June 13th - August 6th 2005
The Faculty of Humanities
of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”
organizes Summer courses in Italian
language and culture for foreign
students who wish to improve their
proficiency in Italian and, at the
same time, to deepen their knowledge
of history, art, archaeology, geography,
literature, cinema and visual arts,
through cultural excursions that
will lead them to the discovery
of Rome and the “Castelli Romani”
area.
Studying Italian in a university context will enable
the students to attend qualifying study programs in Archaeology,
Art and History, XXth and XXIst Century Visual Arts and
Culture and Territory. Each student can choose to attend
one or more of these programs in the time span between
June 13th and August 6th 2005.
Each course will last two weeks,
in which the students will have
Italian lessons (30 hours) and
will take part in ten cultural
excursions in Rome and the “Castelli
Romani” area (40 hours).
The Italian lessons
(which all the students enrolled
in the four programs will attend
together) will be held in the
morning, at the University of
Rome “Tor Vergata”. According
to their level of proficiency,
the students will be grouped
in multilingual classes (maximum
15 students per group) starting
from B1 level of the European
Framework (the Threshold level
is a prerequisite to enroll
in the course) to B2 (Vantage),
C1 (Effective Operational Proficiency)
and C2 (Mastery).
In the afternoon, the students
will be engaged in cultural
excursions which will be different
according to the program they
chose.
