The program of Visual Arts of the XXth and XXIst Century (painting, photography, cinema, video, performing art, etc.) will be divided into two sections: Cinema, and the Visual Arts of the XXIst Century. The section devoted to cinema will be focused on the Italian production of the postwar period (from 1945 up to the present). Some films (ranging from neorealism to the New Wave of the ‘70s and the most recent movies) will be shown either in DVD or in good quality VHS with subtitles in English (if available). The section devoted to the Visual Arts of the XXIst Century will be conducted through a series of visits to the exhibitions and events which will take place in Summer 2005 in museums and private galleries. Some preliminary lessons, aiming at explaining themes and tendencies of modern and contemporary art, will be held at the University.
