SUMMER
COURSES IN ITALIAN
LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS
June
13th - August 6th 2005
This program will
be conducted through a series
of guided excursions to monuments,
excavation sites, and museums.
In a chronological fashion, the
students will discover the Roman
culture from its protohistory
to Christian times. During the
first visits, the students will
trace the steps of the Etruscans
and the Latini, thus getting to
know what the area was like before
the foundation of Rome. Then the
sites of ancient Rome (from its
origin to the Imperial age) will
be explored, following the development
of its topography and architecture.
Finally, the last excursions will
be devoted to the architecture
and the decorations of Christian
Rome.
